Slivered almonds are skinless almonds cut lengthwise into small sticks. The photo shows cream-coloured almond pieces that are thicker than sliced almonds.
The stick shape gives more crunch — ideal for restaurants and caterers garnishing biryani, nasi mandi and desserts, and for bakeries and cafés making cakes, cookies, granola and dessert toppings. Also used in festive cookies and chocolates.
