Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February 2027 (subject to the official announcement). If you run a grocery shop, a Ramadan bazaar stall, a mosque or surau programme, a catering business or a corporate hamper service, now is the time to plan your Ramadan wholesale dates (kurma borong Ramadan). AlSultanFood, a brand of Easy Global Ventures Sdn. Bhd. in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, supplies dates by the carton to businesses across Malaysia. This page covers when to book, which dates sell best, gift boxes for bulk orders and how to place an order.

Why book your Ramadan date stock early (November to January)

Demand for dates jumps in the weeks before the fasting month. 2027 is extra busy because Chinese New Year falls on 6 February 2027, just two days before Ramadan, so couriers and warehouses peak at the same time. Businesses that secure their Ramadan date stock between November and January usually:

  • get the varieties and grades they want before choices narrow;
  • have time to set up shelves, print price labels and start promoting early;
  • plan cash flow calmly instead of rushing at the last minute;
  • avoid deliveries getting stuck in the long-holiday rush.

Our suggestion: talk to us in November about quantities, then confirm your final order in December or early January.

Dates that sell well during Ramadan

Customers have different tastes, so a mix of varieties is usually the safest choice for shops and bazaar stalls.

Ajwa dates from Madinah

Ajwa from Madinah, Saudi Arabia, is always in demand during the fasting month. It is dark and soft and is closely linked to the Sunnah. It is narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) spoke of eating seven Ajwa dates in the morning, which is why many families choose it and give it as a gift. Read more on the Ajwa dates page.

Medjool dates

Large, fleshy and caramel-sweet, Medjool suits customers looking for a premium date and works beautifully in gift boxes. See Medjool dates.

Sukkari dates

Sukkari from Al-Qassim, Saudi Arabia, is known for its sugary sweetness. We stock soft rotab Sukkari and the drier mufattal style. See Sukkari dates.

Mabroom, Safawi and Mariami

  • Mabroom (Madinah): long, slightly chewy and gently sweet. Mabroom dates
  • Safawi (Madinah): dark and soft, a popular choice after Ajwa. Safawi dates
  • Mariami (Iran): soft, sweet and a favourite for breaking the fast. Mariami dates

Frozen jumbo dates (5kg and 10kg)

Our wholesale Frozen Jumbo Dates from Egypt come in 5kg and 10kg packs. They are fresh and soft, ideal for bazaar stalls, caterers and iftar spreads. Wholesale prices are quoted on WhatsApp.

Deglet Nour (on enquiry)

Deglet Nour dates from Tunisia, including dates on the branch, are supplied by the carton on enquiry only and are not sold in the online shop. Ask us if you want to add them to your range. Learn more on the Tunisian dates page.

Gift boxes for companies, mosques and iftar events

Ramadan is also a season of giving. We have gift boxes that work well for bulk orders:

  • Ajwa gift boxes of 3 and 7 dates for moreh and mosque iftar giveaways and office break-fast events: Premium Ajwa Gift Box.
  • Ramadan gift box with Ajwa and Medjool for clients and business partners: Special Ramadan Gift Box.
  • Sunnah Gift Box Sets A to F, pairing dates with nuts, raisins, chocolate or Olivko olive oil. See them all under hampers and gift boxes.

For large quantities, tell us how many boxes you need and the date of your event, and we will confirm the details on WhatsApp.

Tips for planning your Ramadan date stock

Every business is different, but these steps help many sellers:

  • Start from last year. If you sold dates last Ramadan, use those numbers as a baseline and add a little for the first week of fasting, which is usually the busiest.
  • Mix price points and grades. Offer everyday choices such as frozen dates and Mariami alongside premium Ajwa and Medjool for customers buying gifts.
  • Think about pack sizes. Small packs sell easily at stalls, while larger packs and cartons suit caterers, mosques and big families.
  • Plan your storage. Frozen dates need freezer space, so make sure you have room before the stock arrives.
  • Remember Hari Raya. Hari Raya Aidilfitri is expected around 10 March 2027, and dates, nuts and dried fruit keep selling for Raya jars and hampers after the fast.

Not sure how much to order? Tell us about your business and location on WhatsApp and we can work it out together.

Storing dates when they arrive

Put frozen dates in the freezer as soon as they arrive, and thaw only what you plan to sell or serve. Other dates such as Ajwa, Sukkari and Mabroom should be kept in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and sealed after opening. Please check the expiry date on the packaging.

How to place a wholesale order

Wholesale orders are not placed through the shopping cart. It is simple:

  • WhatsApp us on +60 17-581 0934, or fill in the enquiry form on our wholesale page.
  • Tell us the varieties, rough quantities, your location and when you need the stock.
  • We send you a quote and confirm the order with you on WhatsApp.

Minimum orders: retailers 1 carton, wholesalers 5 cartons, and distributors 30 cartons with a 7% discount. See the price table above for the quantity tiers.

Delivery notes

We deliver across Malaysia, and self-pickup is available in Seri Kembangan. Please note: frozen dates are not shipped to Sabah, Sarawak or Labuan, because they must stay cold throughout the journey. Other dates and gift boxes ship nationwide. More details on our delivery page.
